I took my kindergarten class to the fire station in May I think it was, and I kid you not when I say I had more fun than they did!! They were sick of my questions by the end of the morning. And yes, they're all trained paramedics

However, it is not unusual for people to refuse - and even sign the waiver - because they are afraid of the costs they would incur.

Question: Why is it.......that the insurance companies aren't involved in the educational system here?........after all, its a "socialised system" isn't it?
Answer: There's no money in it.
Yet the US accepts state schools as a given.........so whats the difference?
..........sorry, I forget I'm preaching to the choir Elsie.

If they refuse to take you, of course your horse has just come in! But I wasn't talking about that.

Interestingly, there is another UK poster in the marriage-based section that is returning to the UK without her husband. He might or might not join her there and she is aware that if he doesn't join her that the marriage is over. She, too, is very unhappy in the US (Florida) but admits to other problems within the marriage but that they do love each other.
So PS, you're not alone.

With all due respect, you are probably better off out of America anyway. I think Bush and Cheney are both nuts.

Re: Goodbye USA!
Very good post. I'm sure PS does not want everyone telling her how to run her life right now, she is probably stressed out already.
It may seem like a sensible idea to get citizenship but staying somewhere she really doesn't want to be and going through a divorce as well does not seem like a good solution to her immediate problems or to her sanity.
Good luck PS

Re: Goodbye USA!
hello, I am new here and have viewed because I am in a kinda similar situation, I have been here 3 years with hubby and 3 kids and I hate it, I want to go home. Hubby loves it and said, wait 2 years, then wait another year ..... he is just stalling too like Devin I guess. I realised that just recently and do not know what to do? I desperately want to go where I have family, old friends, I know the legal system, I am entitiled to benefits if I need them, I dont get asked if I am Australian every time I open my mouth.... I really do sympathise with Partystar, and if she feels like me, waiting another week for citizenship, or going home now, no contest!
Partystar is married to an American, and has a dual-nationality child, which makes it more complicated.

Re: Goodbye USA!
Of course I can, but is it the right thing to do? Should I put my happiness on hold for the sake of family unity. If I go when do I go? Can I get my half of the business and house out? Do I just pack a bag and leave a note? Should I wait one more year???? See that is why I said I dont know what to do? It is not a usual scenario, I love my husband just not the place we live. Truly if I could afford to go home a week a month I would then we would both be happy ..... I was sympathising with Partystar emotionally ........
