Default Good Medical Insurance Cover

Hi, Having explored the K1 fiancee route with immigration lawyer in the USA - the main concern is just the cost/quality of medical insurance available over there.

My fiancee has her own and aged 65, it is somehow government linked. so cant "piggy back" that insurance.

I really need to get my own - especially if the K1 is approved.....I would be there for 180 days to start off ie marriage and the AOS part...no travel back to uk/outside US permitted ... so have to ensure health cover in place for the long term...just in case ..

Appreciate any help, thanks.

After my initial reply, the OP emailed me and we got to chatting like you do.

turns out back in the day, he played professional footy for a few lower league teams.

would a soccer coaching job at a high school get him benefits does anyone know?

hmm, interesting! Down to the school district of course.. how much $$ they've got at the moment. Certainly employment is going to be the easiest way for him to get insurance.
I've been chatting with him also; does anyone have the info on joining onto his spouse's Medicare? (lansbury may have studied it up?)

jj, try plugging a search in at https://www.ehealthinsurance.com ?

He'll have to pay for it until he's eligible.

What about what we got my fiance from buyamericaninsurance.com? We got a Patriot America Plan which covers him for 1 yr, drs visits, emergency room, hospital and surgeries ( nothing pre existing of course ) ? It cost roughly 400$-600$ depending on the amount of coverage, we got a 100k policy for 1 yr...

Not to mention, as soon as he is here he will be added to my vehicle insurance which also has a medical payout of 250k....( not that it makes much of a difference, but IF we were involved in an accident hed be ok there too )

ps... there are also community health centers that work on a sliding scale fee based on income or the inability to pay. When I didn't have health insurance I used one in Montana for about 4 yrs, they even helped with prescription coverages.

Yes, it would. Any position within the school systems, at least in NYS, offer benefits. Most positions are even union protected. He can always become a janitor or a teacher's aide.
