When did GEICO become a broker? I know in 1972 my first husband financed our Datsun through GEICO but I'm not even sure they still do that. At that time, you had to be a government employee to use GEICO and he was a mailman.

I tried Geico for the house we've just been accepted on, but they were the only big one who refused to give me a quote online.

I have been using Amica, they were always helpful and not too expensive. They were happy to insure me with UK drivers license whilst I was waiting to get my Texas license. I also use them for my rental insurance. I have found their rates are pretty good, and their customer service has been excellent.

Well Geico quoted but looking at their website they seem to have at least 5 different companies they use for insurance including Liberty Mutual and Travelers so it seems like they are acting as a broker for house insurance.
Our State Farm agent's attitude was take it or leave it, they didn't even offer to discuss with the underwriters, so we left it.
