Golf Championship
I'm not at all interested in golf, but I've just discovered that the US PGA Golf Championship (August 2005) is going to be held just a couple of miles from our house.
I know it must be a big event as Tiger Woods is expected to be there (plus a load of other famous golf players I've never heard of!).
The Baltusrol Golf Club wants about 3,000 volunteers to do things like drive golf buggies, drive the players from their hotels to the course, keep the scoreboards up to date and help in the media centre etc. I was surprised that the 'volunteers' are expected to pay $162 for the priviledge! (But then again they do get a uniform, parking, food & drink and a credential to attend the tournament daily).

Ryder Cup is in Michigan too in September I think.
Would be funnier if they played it in February methinks, but there ya go.
