Some very scared people posting on this thread - it's Mexico not Afghanistan!
You don't have to stay in a concrete jungle, why would you want to do that?
The US media likes to big-up Mexico's problems, but its a beautiful country with some fantastic sights. Sure, a lot of the border towns are pretty crap but I've heard Canadians saying the same thing about Buffalo, Detroit and Niagara - would a canuck coming to Buffalo be sensible in writing-off the whole of the US?

Absolutely! I go quite often, but I think that I would avoid Juarez for the time being.
