Getting married then the visa?
 
Can we get married while we wait for the process to complete or do we have to wait for everything to come through first ?

That all depends on what visa your applying for and whether your together or in seperate countries

I take it you are talking about a fiance(e) visa. As the name implies this is for a
fiance(e) and so you must be unmarried to use it.

If both partners have met, you have the options to file for Fiancee Visa before
marriage OR get married and file for Marraige to a US Citizen. You find helpful
