Hi,
Anyone know what the German term is for the Police Certificate and where does one apply, nearest Police Station, City HQ etc? Also how long is it valid.
Many thanks in anticipation

It is called "Fuehrungszeugnis". You apply for it at the city administration where
you live ("Meldebehoerde"). There is no validity limit on the certificate. However,
the US consulates do not accept certificates that are older than 1 year. If Germany
is your home country, the certificate is not accepted if it is older than 6 months.

It is called "Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis" and you get it at the local
pass-authority "Paßstlle". As far as i know it's good for 6 months.
