GEICO Auto Ins ??

Anyone have any experience with them ? I called around the usual suspects and Geico is $200.00 a year cheaper with the same coverage / deductables etc than most.

like any insurance, some love, some hate...I think some of it depends on which state you're in though but seems to have generally gotten okay remarks from folks I know in the north east.

If they are actually cheaper I think that they are probably worth a try.

When I got a quote from them a year or so ago it was almost $400 more than what I was paying at the time ... :frown:

Yeah they came out a lot more expensive for mine when I tried them.

Had them for 5 years....reasonably priced.
Never had to make a claim, so don't really know how good they are.

They have been doing a lot of radio advertising specifically targeted at California recently so I don't know if that means that they now have some decent rates (or, more likely, that they are just trying to make more money ...)

Yes I noticed they are absolutely swamping advertising media...I find that somewhat off-putting.

Really, you only get to know how good an insurance company is when you make a claim. I have Geico and I'm making a claim at the moment for a very tricky situation where my neighbour is persistently vandalizing my car. I'd say the jury is out on them right now. They are handling the claim competently, but I have been unable to convince them to come out to see the location where the damage is being done, something that is very important.

That is true.

When TS Allison flooded Houston they were excellent when our sons car flooded and floated away and two other minor mishaps we have had over the years were dealt with promptly and fairly.

So I give them:thumbsup:

I got a quote from them two years ago, they were not as cheap as Progressive so I didn't buy Geico, and I still get junk mail from them every month or two.

However I have never claimed with either company so I don't know how they compare there.

I have GEICO insurance with good limits 250/500. They quoted $500 for 6 months for a toyota. I also like their website which has lots of info.

They were the cheapest for us in Texas and we had used them before.
Good on claims too

I have had the same policy with GEICO since 1975. Easy to deal with; available 24/7; good customer service; quick auto inspection for comp and collision; I don't ever plan to change insurers.

and yes, I have had to make claims for accidents, vandalism and broken glass. they even send someone to where your car is parked to replace the glass.
