Default FYI - Credit card with lower requirements (non-secured)

application fee of $19 (refundable if refused) and an annual fee (mine is $79 but varies)

www.orchardbank.com

not a good card by standard criteria but a good tool to help build credit if you don't want a secured card

low credit limits (like $300-$1000)

may be useful to some people

also - be aware, even if you get 'pre-approved' offers in the mail you are NOT guaranteed to be approved - its all subject to final verification of your credit report

hope this helps some people

I like to refer to www.epinions.com to read people's experience owning/using credit cards.

The Orchard Bank credit card doesn't look that promising based on recent reviewers. See-

its seems that most people had a reasonable experience - rated it 4 or 5 stars

the 4 or 5 people who didn't are probably idiots who can't read/can't be bothered to read or can't comprehend the fees disclosure - its very straightforward

its a card that offers a solution to a specific requirement - helping establish or re-establish credit

if you have a good-excellent credit rating DON"T get this card - get an AMEX blue or other card with great features/benefits or reviews

but if you are just starting out and want to improve your profile then this seems to be a good choice if you don't want to go down the secured route

Bleh! Anything that charges an annual fee is crap to me..I don't believe in paying for the privilege of having a credit card.

But for those that need to gain credit status here, I can see this card as a good idea.
