OMG! EPIPHANY MOMENT! I had been wondering what the 'broil' setting was on my oven and indeed why anyone would need to 'broil' something, whilst simultaneously lamenting the fact my oven didn't have a grill and wondering what purpose those suspiciously grill-like metal elements on the roof of the of the oven had. Thank you Sally Redux for prompting me to google 'what is a broiler'. CHEESE ON TOAST TOMORROW!
