Default Full 'English Breakfast' for Rete & anyone else in the NYC area.

Last night me and the other English driver based at Yonkers went to the 'Raceway diner' at the intersect of Yonkers ave and I-87 (opposite the Casino).
They serve an all day 'Irish breakfast' I asked for a modification.
No black pudding, no toast,.... Real bacon, real sausages, fried tomatoes, fried bread, and baked beans.
10 minutes later it 2 lovely English brekies were placed in front of us .... Luveley jubbley

At my local pub on the UWS they serve a "traditional Irish" dinner menu including shepherds pie, fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, cornish pastie etc.

We may have layed claim to the top bit of their country, but they're laying claim to our food :-)

Go there all the time. Also get the same breakfast at Eileen's Cottage and the Irish Coffee Shop on McLean between Kimball and Woodlawn Avenues. You also can get a rasher of bacon.

Had Bangers and Mashed last Tuesday night at Eileen's with beans with homemade Irish bread. A nice treat.

Told ya this has become an Irish borough of the Bronx/Westchester. Even can get Guinness on tap and all the football games. Don't know about rugby though.

Easy Peasy as you guys say.

From the Sugar House go to South Broadway. Make a right onto SB and continue to McLean Avenue (about 2 lights if I remember correctly). McLean starts at SB and ends at Bronx River Road where I live. Take McLean all the way pass Central Avenue/Overpass to I-87. A&P will be on the left. Continue down McLean until you get to a Shell Station on the left and another gas station across diagonal to it and a bank on each of the other two corners. This will be Kimball Avenue. (Forms an X) The Irish Coffee shop is 1 block down on the left next to a bar and Eileen's is on the next block next to the Heritage Bar. Eileen's is open 24/7.

You will pass the following places: A VFW post on the right and a flower nursey on the left; Tibbetts Brook Road; Midland Avenue; St. Paul's Church; Mannion's; then Central; after Central; Coyle Shooting Range and Park on the right; an Italian Restaurant on the right; American Legion on the left; BP Gas Station on the left; Duane Read on the right; Rory Dolan's on the left; then Kimball Avenue.

I went to Tea and Sympathy last week. It was pretty good. They dont do breakfast but they do sunday lunch and various english things. They have a shop next door as well..

I'm also going to try out breakfast at Gordon Ramsay at the London hotel this weekend. They do a full english there......it's $35 each though. It better be good.
