Front Loading Washing Machines

Has anyone bought one of these over here? I have been renting the usual crap for a while and am sending those back this week.. M has the top loading ones too, but I want to sell that washer/dryer and buy front loaders cos I am sick of clothes getting ruines, but am not sure which is a good one to buy. I have looked at some online reviews and they are very mixed... Don't wanna spend an absolute fortune, or get something crappy either, so just wondered if anyone had bought one recently.

Thanks!!

we've got an LG front loader, love it but don't have anything in the US to compare to as its the only one we've had, I'm just pleased 'cos I can fit all my towels in it in one wash..I think we paid about $900 for it, not sure if this is expensive or not, didn't seem to be compared to others that Best Buy had..
we have the matching dryer to go with it and haven't had any issues at all, also had an LG refridgerator that we loved as well, we had to get rid of it though :( as it was too big to fit in my new kitchen..

I love my toploader and would have it over a frontloader any day.
I can't believe this is my only post of the day, what a sad life I lead.

Bought a Kenmore HE3T at Mrs. FB's insistence couple of years back on 0% financing from Sears. Worked flawlessly ever since. Would recommend you get a model that can boil the water -- then you don't need to use the freakin' beloved US bleach which destroys your clothes just as well as that mangling thingy in the standard ones.

There's a Mrs FB?

Anyway, I wanted a front loader, I preferred them to the top loader, but they are incredibly more expensive than a top loader. But, in the long run they do save more money because they use less water.....

Sorry, that has absolutely no bearing in what you originally posted Lesley. I have no idea what brands are better than others. Although after extensive research on fridges.....LG is not as good as Amana. And Kenmore doesn't manufacture they're own brand. :o

It's a Whirlpool with a Kenmore sticker on it, I believe.
