Frogs and Bugs and sharks in Florida
Ok so when I arrived in October it was like an English summer and I was lulled into a false sense of security. So a couple of weeks ago it was stormy and since then we have a frog chorus every night, plagues of ants, cockroaches and other bugs. Birds singing all night. I know we live on a reclaimed swamp but its more like being in the jungle.
Oh and we went to the beach and everyone had to get out of the sea cos someone thought they saw a shark!
I've been warned the only place I walk has cottonmouths and its nearly hurricane season. Its apparently gonna be 20 degrees hotter soon so what else am I missing?

You'll learn two new words. DOPPLER RADAR and by the end of the season you'll be extremely familiar with it.
If you're an atheist, I can guarantee that by the end of hurricane season you will believe in 'something' up there... (Oh god, please let the track veer to the right a bit so that Tampa gets the brunt of it, please)
The wonders of gardening between 6 and 8 am. Not a soul to be seen outside before 4 or 5 pm because of the humidity.
Your first true lightning storm will freak you out.

So why does anyone want to live in Florida?
Isn't the place also full of tourists and born-again Christians and Bush supporters?

Apparently the British are healthier than Americans (although they can't figure out why ) so you might want to re-think the move.
