I did the NJ licence switch from a UK licence. You need to go on their web site and make sure you can do the 6 point ID check. Take these documents and your licence, passport etc to one of main offices. You cannot just go to any test center. We went to Rahway.

They don't need any letter from employees etc. All they care is that you are legal in the country as the NJ licence is an official ID in the USA.

No need for a road test and your NJ licence will be valid for the length of your L1/L2 or for 4 years if you have GC.

Study the book as they ask some questions you will have no idea such as rules for driving as a teenager. I failed the first time as I didn't read the book....
