I have little doubt that it's the post office fault:
I signed up for their "informed delivery" last week
The mostt important thing it's done so far is to inform me of all the mail that never arrives - including tax docs!

My wife has that “informed delivery.”

Main point of it is she tells me not to bother to walk to the mailbox, it’s all junk. She still doesn’t get it, I like to look at the junk mail!

There are multiple people in my neighbourhood who stand and look at each item of mail as they pull them one by one from the mailbox. It doesn't matter if it is well below freezing, they spend ten minutes standing there, inspecting each item in turn as if they don't have to take the whole lot back to their house anyway. Seems to be an old lady thing, everyone else just grabs the lot in one go and leaves. It's a bit annoying, since I have to wait sometimes because their slot is right next to mine and I don't feel like asking them to hurry up or move out of the way for a few seconds.

My tests still haven't arrived either.

so - does "informed delivery" ( better described as misinformed delivery or informed misdelivery ) show it was delivered?
If not I guess the fault rests with the Gov't.

No. I assume so many millions were ordered, it’ll take them a month or more to get them all out the door.

I ordered mine the same time as you guys. I got an email on January 26th to say they would be delivered on the 29th. When I checked my mail box on the 26th they were already delivered.

I have a theory why we got ours so quickly. Our community is made up of Covid denial Trump loving red necks, and I was probably the only address from that zip code that ordered so it was easy to just mail one out than a whole city of them

Pretty much. I also ordered on the 18th and have yet to receive them.

I was amused to see that Medicare recipients- like me - will be able to get free test kits from participating pharmacies starting in … early spring. Timed nicely for when omicron likely fades away

Yeah but that’s where I live too! Rural northern New York. Literally the only county in New York where the infection rate is still sky-high and rising. No spare capacity in any of our local hospitals, and ten new Covid deaths just in the last few days. The neighbor girl - who I remember as a sweet baby - and her husband, both cops, both unvaxxed anti-vaxxers. Even though all police officers in NY are supposed to be vaccinated.

Probably very similar massive Walmarts and mediocre-quality supermarkets. And a similar strip on the edge of town with every fast food chain under the sun!!

Interesting! Realistically, folks with outdoor mailboxes (like me) just need to bring it indoors asap. Yeah, if it’s in the mailbox overnight, it’ll freeze! My guess is the inside of the mail carrier’s vehicle is probably at least 35 degrees, even on very cold days …
