Free Coursera course covering US financial matters
There's always a lot of questions on here about how finances work in the US - taxes, insurances, investing, pensions, etc.
I'm currently doing a free course with Coursera called Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning, which is proving very useful at giving a broad overview of the US system.
It's of course aimed at USers with more conventional financial situations than we tend to have, but does at least give an excellent starting point at understanding Social Security, different insurances, tax, 401ks, etc, to use as a springboard onto the more specific matters affecting us. Often it's useful just to have the right vocabulary for your search!
It's currently on Week 3 of 7; if you enrol now you can still access all the previous video lectures. These are more like audio lectures with the odd Powerpoint slide to glance at, so it's usefully something you can multi-task with - I've just listened to all the insurance ones whilst making biscuits. Each week's lectures takes about 45 mins to one hour to listen to.

This one coming up in a few months on US Immigration and Citizenship might also be interesting to many here.
