Default Fox Movers

Hi, we're just about to move from Reading, UK, to Naperville, IL. Fox have provided us the cheapest quote, £3,600 for a 20 foot container (850 cu ft), Pickfords, Doree Bonner and Robinsons were all £500 or more above this.

Before confirming, has anybody moved with Fox, and if so, what was your experience? Many thanks in advance for your help.

International moving is not the same as moving in the UK, the crew who pack you at your home will not be the same crew or company who deliver and unpack you at your chosen destination.
Its not only the quality and performance of the UK moving company, the ones who pack your stuff up in the UK that matters, its who is their correspondent company in the US who will be responsible to deliver and unpack everything that you should also be concerned with.
Moving companies have local alliances/agents that they deal with dependant upon where in the US the delivery has to be made, maybe our Illinois members can comment on them (if Fox tell you who they will be arranging delivery with) more easily than commenting on the performance of the UK company.

No idea, as mentioned it's down to who is contracted on the local end. Pickfords do usually have good recommendations from people though, but that's usually to NY/TX/CA, so no idea about IL

Also ask what happens if you're not ready to receive delivery at the other end?
Eg. We hadn't been given the keys to our rental. Allied/Pickfords put our stuff into storage with no hassle on a rolling basis and under continued insurance cover aswell. Then delivered when we were ready and upacked etc as agreed.

Also be ready for surcharges at POE for your container. We had a 'secondary' inspection and some spray for foot and mouth.
