Formula 1 in New Jersey from 2013
Interesting announcement made this evening - New Jersey will host the Formula 1 races for 10 years from 2013 (riverside location opposite New York City):

Re: Formula 1 in New Jersey from 2013
So will that be two Grand Prix in the states? Austin and NJ?
So a 'United States Grand Prix' and a 'Grand Prix of America'? I am surprised there is anyone in the states who would watch F1 after 2005 |
Re: Formula 1 in New Jersey from 2013
Do the US organisers know that there will be right hand bends as well as left hand bends needed on the course?!:p

Looking forward to this if it really happens. NYC is about a 4 hour train ride from me.

It's a bit of a drive, but a doable day trip...wonder how painful they'll make the tickets and what the parking will be like....
And who didn't bribe whoever with enough cash to lose out this time around? :D |

Seems like a rip off. The race in Austin has general admission starting at $250 which includes admission to the Moto GP and SCCA Trans Am events. Track doesn't excite me much either, looks like a crappier version of Montreal. So many great tracks they could have gone to in North America, this is totally underwhelming.
That is why it is not cheap. But I am looking forward to the race though. I hope that this track produces good racing. Well shall see. |
