I have just moved over from the UK and am already piling on the punds with all this mexican food and cheese smotherings. I would like to get back to playing football again!! Can anyone point me in the right direction (Orange County, CA) please? Nothing too serious and will allow 25yr old.
Thank you!!

I am guessing it is going to be heavy with Hispanic immigrants, so be prepared to learn Spanish.

I know a guy who plays in a league up here in LA, they play on a sunday, so the drive up shouldn't be too bad. He's early 30s, so I imagine they'd let you in Let me know if its not too far and you want more details!

I do as well Gezzer if you want the info but he said the English teams are a shambles and just end kicking the shit out of nippy Mexicans and having ciggies at half time - ask Tomelina on this forum, he plays, but knowing him its probably 40 somethings pissing it up on the beach - he is Bluenose after all

It's worse than that, the average age I play with is probably 45! I just play in a pick up game that was started by a bunch of friends 20 years ago. I have been playing with them about 7 years and it depends who shows up, people come and go, we have a new crop of Africans playing with us, there are people from the UK, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Argentina etc that I play with. I used to play in a proper league in Griffiths Park but my whole weekend was taken up playing.
It will be heavily Hispanic but I don't really know where to point him. There is a British pub in Santa Ana, I don't know where you are, but someone in there should know;

..............If not I would just proceed to get pissed

I don't have an exact answer, but I have met some guys who play in pub teams in Orange County. I think it's the Irish and British pubs that have teams they sponsor, and it's just fun stuff. I think the Shamrock on PCH in Newport might have a team or you can call and ask those guys that own it if they know, they're pretty nice.
