oh my! I don't like that idea either. That show is untouchable!

I don't really understand this need to remake so many British shows. Is it because of the accents or something?

I thought they already tried this, must be thinking of something else.

Either way, it'll be shit...the Projects over here tend to be well different...meh.

And The Thick of It? That too? Meh, again.

Won't watch it! Nobody can replace or improve David Jason's "Del Boy"! :frown:

Re: Fools and Horses remake

.. its been a wish for Steve Carell for ages.. I think he wants to play (the equiv of?) Delboy - prob his ego thinks he'll do a hysterical job at it... (yeah, I don't find Carell remotely funny). No doubt they'll make a complete hash of it overhere, bastardize it, dumb it down to cater to US audiences. (no doubt they'll reenact the batman & robin scene and the classic fall through the bar). It will no doubt be highly plugged and marketed with the optimistic voiceover "..from the makers of The Office..." so that people automatically think "Oh, it must be good..."
I'll pass, thank-you.

Abso ****ing lutely NOT!!!!!!!!!

This is almost as mentally ****ed up as Michelle Bachmann thinking she'd make a good president, or plant pot...

For whoever is behind this idea, let me just point them at all the evidence they need to stay well away...

... the US version of Top Gear

Top ****-up, more like.

"What do you prefer, Rodney, grass or astroturf?"

"I dunno, I've never smoked astroturf!"

Impossible to re-create classics such as this one..especially over here. I can see how the end of the US series (after a total of 3 episodes ;)) will be with the two brothers actually getting rich and winning the American Way missing the whole point of the UK original series in the process, much the way they did with the US Office. Yuk!
