What is a potato scone?

Like a dessert type scone but made with (mashed?) potato as well as flour?

Are they eaten with savoury fillings instead of sweet?

Bridies are a pastie with beef, onion and potato in them and are sold in baker shops in Scotland...I'm sure they sell them in England too because a chick on here said she missed them

Holy crap! $24 for a dozen sausage rolls!

I want to make my own, except I have no clue how to make flaky pastry here; anyone have a recipe?

Potato scones are made with flour, butter, and potatoes. Their totally different from regular scones ... their flat so you don't slice them or anything ... really good toasted with some melted butter ... beats crumpets hands down!

I never heard of them in the UK, first time I had them, was here, introduced to "Potato Pancakes" by my German mother-in-law..

I've seen Potato pancake mix in the supermarkets over here, in the baking section.. you just add eggs, milk and water, and fry them..
