Fly free UK-US - Gallo Wines promotion

There is currently a promotion on in the UK for free flights to the US
if you buy six bottles of the Turning Leaf wines from Gallo via the
Thresher's group of wine stores inc. Victoria wines, Wine Rack, Huttons
etc. Airport tax still has to be paid though.

There was a hiccup last
week when there was a recall as some bottles were found to have glass
particles in them (cynics might say that the promotion is too popular!)
*but* one acquaintance has still been able to buy the bottles from
Victoria Wines.

The promotion is this (was advertised in "Daily Mail"
etc. - so tell your family/friends in the UK:

Buy a case of six Gallo
Turning Leaf Sauvignon Blanc wine bottles (approx 35.04 GBP). No idea if
this stuff is nice to drink!

Purchase by 15th Sept. Must send in
applications by Oct 1st.

Free *return* flights to: New York, Boston,
Philadelphia, Atlanta. Other cities eg. San Fran or LA is an extra 60
GBP.

Offer is one per household (but could register for extra tickets
at a friend's or neighbour's address I guess).

Promotion excludes
travel in August, first two weeks of September and 15 December to 5th
January.

Wine stores in Threshers group: see
http://www.threshers.co.uk

The recall notice for some of
the bottles with certain ref nos. is here (but you can scout around to
find the ok ones in some of the stores):

Re: Fly free UK-US - Gallo Wines promotion

I scored two cases at Sainsbury tonight.

Even better, they were
reduced from £37.99 to £24.99.
Now I know I can watch the Superbowl next
year on home soil and not sitting up in the UK until 4am.

No, they
are quite limited.
New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta
and Miami
- plus LAX and SFO at a supplement.

Errr.... Didn't the
post say via Threshers? Or can you get it from anywhere?

Sainsbury was doing it as well.

The only down side of the promotion
is that it seems almost impossible to get two cheap tickets on the same
flight because of the "one per household" rule and that you have to give
them three choices of dates and three choices of destination.

I'm not
fussy where I watch the Superbowl as long as it isn't in the UK in the
middle of the night, and I reckon I can recoup the cost of the airport
tax by punting my duty free fags when I get back.

If she can't get one, let me
know. My local one had about 10 cases left on Tuesday night.
