I want to send some flowers to my mate here in the US, just wondered if anyone had used a company they would recommend online?

flowerbud.com does very tasteful stuff. Not too cheap mind, but the best I've had by far.

Re: Flowers
I helped my husband's colleague with her trip to New Zealand (she was in a panic as it was over Christmas. She had booked her flights couldn't find any accommodation or rental cars and I managed to sort it all out for her) and as a 'thank you' she sent me a lovely flower arrangement.
The flowers (which came complete with vase) were from 1-800Flowers.com...and they lasted for ages.
Here's a website for online florists and discount coupons or coupon codes...this includes some of the current promotions for 1-800 Flowers.com
http://www.couponcraze.com/categories/Flowers/
(The link is probably worth bookmarking for future use)

Best flowers I've found were www.proflowers.com. Prices are decent and every bunch of roses I've bought have lasted around 2-3 weeks. Look very nice too!

Re: Flowers
YOU ARE ALL WRONG
Seriously, every time I have sent flowers abroad, I contact a local florist IN the town the person lives in.... My Nan used to live in Southwick, Brighton and the florist there was great, every Christmas..
Thanks to the internet, finding a florist is easy.
Phone up the florist (at 5p or 5c a minute - the call cost now is peanuts too).
You get WAY MORE FLOWERS for your money. FTD and interflora and ALL of those guys use a local florist and get a WHOPPING 30% commission plus all the shipping fees. Where do you think that commission is taken from - YOUR FLOWERS.
Don't get ripped off, establish a local florists where you Mum lives and/or the rest of the family around the world and you won't regret it. Also, they can often deliver same day if you beg

Er.....read the original question again and you will notice that the flowers are to be sent to an address in the US, not the UK!
(However, when I do send flowers to a UK address I do generally phone the local florists by going to the UK Yellow Pages.....over here you can just use the coupon codes to get a discount and it's less hassle).
