Re: Florida to expand law on gun use
We had a duty to retreat if we could unless in our home when the castle doctrine came into effect. Now the law simply says if you are legally in (almost) any place why should you be forced out of it by a criminal. Of course you cant just up and shoot someone for littering...it still has to be justified use of deadly force, and you still cant carry a weapon into anywhere banned under federal law even with a concealed weapons permit, such as bars and goverment buildings, schools, etc. Equally openly carrying a weapon is illegal anywhere by anyone except law enforcement etc so its highly unlikely to create the "wild west" style.

shootings are a daily basis here in Jacksonville. Its mentioned in the local news every day but doesnt get more attention than that as its becoming 'accepted'. I myself dont like guns in any fashion. Even if a criminal comes into your home statistics show you are more likely to get your own gun turned on yourself. I will never allow one in my home and I am glad I am leaving here.

Forget the guns it's the old farts in cars who frighten me most. Nobody has pulled a gun on me but I've had dozens of idiots make my heart skip in my car with their antics. Perhaps if I get a gun and feel threatened then I could shoot them?
