Jack Everett is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Florida car insurance

Hi, my name is Jack Everett and I live in Florida for half of the year. Due to my wife's health this is the way it has to be but I have had nothing but problems obtaining car insurance especially because I have no Social Security number. Some companies only agreeing to insure me if I take a Florida driving test which I can do but they expire after 6 months.
Can anyone suggest anything please?

Take the test and renew the license every 6 months.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you don't actually "live" in Florida for half the year, but are actually "visiting" for half the year, using a B-2 visa. Is that correct?

Correct...if you are a visitor in the USA, you cannot get a SSN.

Some companies only agreeing to insure me if I take a Florida driving test which I can do but they expire after 6 months.
You say "some" companies only agree to cover you if you take the FL driving test. What do the "other" companies say?

Can anyone suggest anything please?
1. Take the FL drivers test each time you visit and get a new license so you can get insurance coverage;
2. Take your wife to another country where the climate is similar to FL. I'm not sure why it HAS to be FL specifically. Is your wife a USC?
