Flabber-ghasted or am i smoking crack?
Just had dinner with friends who moved from Chattanooga TN to St Albans UK (been here a few months)
watching the news about the IRA and the conversation went political very quickly (their doing, not mine) Few issues with what they had to say 1. They can't understand why UK colleagues slam GWB(j) 2. They think the UK is anti-american 3. They think Bill C was the biggest piece of crap. 4. Didn't know the IRA were terrorists 5. Think the crap US economy is purely Bill C's fauly 6. Think GWB will learn from tony B to be a great orator 7. CNN = clinton news network and fox news is the only one to watch these people are financially successful, both with degrees my only comment is to say that to #6 you can't make a silk purse...... I'm still in shock and the wine has not lessened it at all |
Re: Flabber-ghasted or am i smoking crack?

I have a close friend that is a staunch Republican and we just don't even go there any more. She is a member of the Ann Coulter Forum, who is God in their eyes. |

They can't understand why UK colleagues slam GWB(j) Neither can I. He's a fine, upstanding man with good family values and morals. Or, at least, so God keeps telling him. Allegedly. 2. They think the UK is anti-american Isn't it? I'm very disappointed. 3. They think Bill C was the biggest piece of crap. Wrong bodily fluid, but close enough. 4. Didn't know the IRA were terrorists They're the tax guys, right? They terrorise my bank account annually. 5. Think the crap US economy is purely Bill C's fauly Not sure how Bill Cosby managed to screw up the economy. Maybe he was trying to be funny but GWB didn't get the joke? Joke's on him now... 6. Think GWB will learn from tony B to be a great orator But then, GWB thinks an orator is something long and reptilian, with lots of sharp teeth and a tendency to hide out in the Everglades. 7. CNN = clinton news network and fox news is the only one to watch Can't help you here, I'm afraid... |

i explained nicely that in the UK I am Conservative but EyeRaq war/combination of church and state and 2000 dead american troops was an issue when I told them that Bill C is respected around the world blah blah great economy blah statesmen blah they completely discounted it and said he was a disgrace to america and that my wife would agree with them!!!! I mean they were sorority sisters but she has a 'bush-free tennessee' bumper sticker! they also thought it was a travesty how the pen1s issue was not that much of an issue outside the usa my argument was: whats worse, a quick bl0wie or tens of thousands dead for a war that is widely accepted as not justified it was nearly a phone meeting the wall moment |
