Default FL Propery taxes

These property taxes in SE Florida are killing me, looks like ours is going over the $8k mark I just don't get it. $8 freaking grand just on taxes It's like another mortgage in itself Our house valuation is $440,000. It's a real depresser that's for sure.

SE Florida is getting too expensive, what with the insurance increases as well. Maybe it's time to start thinking about another state. I hear the SC & NC are pretty good in terms of house prices and lower property taxes.

Yep, both states are fast becoming the "in" place to move to. You certainly get more house for your money than FL.

We had a 3/2/2 in Boca....$12k property tax.....thats correct $250 per week every week tax on our house. And they say the US is the land of low taxes.

We were paying over $16k per year on tax and insurance for home and cars.

Its not quite so bad where we are now (North Central FL) but prices going up...currently $3K and rising on a 3/2/2

That's about what the MIL is paying now for taxes and insurance; and it's why we're going to move to a bit further North.

Yes, and all these high property taxes is having a very negative effect on house sales. Quite frankly, it's getting to the point where it is ridiculous. $12k on a 3/2/2 is extracting the urine. Here's the kicker, at least for me, we are paying more than every on property taxes and where is this money going ? I don't see anything added services

Add health insurance on top of all that and the US (or at least parts of the US) is on par (or pretty close too) Europe when it comes to taxes !

It'll be interesting to see what whoever becomes the new State Governor will do about the taxes.....they are all selling it on their election campaigns.

All variations on a theme, from lowered millage rate to upping the homestead exemption from it's current 25k to 50k, etc. Time will tell if they are just election ploys.....

That's only good if you actually qualify for homestead exemption.
The non immigrant plebs like myself don't get any exemption.
