Default Fixing to stucco wall

Google results all seem to relate to hanging big, heavy things off a stucco wall like ornaments, hosepipes, gates, etc. But I simply want to pin down some temporary cable. It's hanging off the roof (wood frame so some U nails do the job there) and plugging in by my front door, but it hangs out about a foot from the wall due to the roof location. Any ideas how to attach the cable to the wall whilst being able to pull it off with minimal damage in a couple of months?

I'd rather not drill a hole but if that's the only way then so be it. I've no idea what's behind the stucco though.

For temporary stuff on plaster on outside walls in the UK, I've used U nails before and it worked OK, should work on stucco to. The nails should pull out and not bring the stucco with it, just leave the nail holes which can be filled if needed.

What is behind the stucco, wood, brick, or?
A picture of said area might be helpful.

The U nails just bounce out of the stucco, taking small chunks with it. No idea what's behind the stucco - I guess it's a wood frame but the stucco must be mounted on something, maybe some form of external wall plasterboard.

This is the kind of thing: http://www.murtaghstucco.com/_images/remediation.JPG (not my photo)

Duck tape! ........ You can get it in many different colors, so you should be able to get a reasonable color match.

Lol, ordinary tape doesn't stick but maybe duck tape has more staying power.

You could use an anchor specifically for stucco, its nothing more than a rawlplug with clip included.

http://www.homedepot.com/buy/buildin...ck-20001l.html

When you are done, remove the screw and if you can't remove the plug just tap it further back. A dab of a stucco patch (Dab make one) and some touch up paint, you'll never know it had been there.

Aha that looks as if it'll do the job, thanks. Now all I need to do is find it in Home Depot - spent half an hour yesterday trying to find the bloody U-nails, no staff to be found anywhere.
