First U.S. Passport how long is it good for?
I applied for my first united states passport...I am a new citizen. Does anyone know how many years your first passport is good for?
Thanks, DA |

Actually, the answer depends on how old you were when you got your passport.
I see that you're a new member but from the four threads you've started so far, it's evident that you don't bother spending 1-2 minutes looking stuff up before asking people to do it for you. I recommend going to http://www.google.com and looking up "how long is a U.S. passport valid?" -- you should be able to find the answer in less time than it took for you to start this thread in the first place. ~ Jenney p.s. I suppose I could have googled it... but then what would be the purpose of this and other immigration forums like it?

DA Edit: Here's information from the department of state. A U.S. passport for an adult is valid for no longer than 10 years; a U.S. passport for a child under 16 is valid for no longer than 5 years. Reference: http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppi...amily_864.html |

If you are under 15 it is only valid for 5 years.

It's 10 years either way. I got one as a child along with my mom and they both expired 10 years after receipt.

No it’s a valid question. Hope you know that participating in a forum is 100% voluntary...right? You don’t have to participate in these forums if you don’t want to especially if you are going to be Bit*h about it.

LOL - this is way too funny.
If anyone doesn't want to answer the question then don't. And for those who do - then please do. |
