The first cassette that I remember buying with my OWN money was:

Thompson Twins - Into the Gap

I bought it at a record shop in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina during a family vacation in August 1984. I was 11 years old, going on 12. How's that for specificity?

Man, I listened to that thing on my Walk-man over and over and over...

OMG we saw Shawaddywaddy when we were about 14, in some old horse barn! it was a big deal back then
