03-21-2002 Went to the INS and got my EAD card. It took less than 15 minutes.
04-12-2002 Received Fingerprint appointment in the mail.
05-17-2002 Fingerprinted.
Took less than 20 minutes.
07-29-2002 Got my AOS Interview letter.
07-31-2002 I'm now officially a CPR here in the US!

I just realized that I have my AOS interview next week in Charleston, and I haven't been fingerprinted yet!
Well, I mean other than just the one print that ended up on my EAD.

My reason for asking is this:
My EAD expires January 3, 2003 and I had planned to submit the paperwork for renewal (I-765)
mid-September, giving the INS more than 3 months time.
My employer won't allow me to work without a valid EAD, this spring they sent a collegue of mine home, because her EAD had expired!

So, I wonder...
Does the INS sometimes do the fingerprinting at the same appointment as the AOS interview?

If not... does this mean I have to expect a delay, ending up not getting the stamp at the end of the interview??

The AOS interview came quicker then we anticipated (by about a year *S*)
But now I wonder if I need to submit the I-765 anyway,
not to be at risk, and take the $120 loss?
