Finally Here!!!
Hi Guys
I just wanted to thank everyone on the site that gave advice over the past 6 months. It was really helpful. We have finally made it to Atlanta (Suwanee). Have been here 10 weeks and sorted everything out, got our driving licenses and everything else sorted out. It has been manic, but the advice we got from this site was really helpful, and made certain things a lot easier than they other wise would have been. If any other people are in the process of coming over i would be happy to share advice and experience! |

Re: Finally Here!!!
Welcome to Sunny Georgia. You'll be close to action in that location, Atlanta is pretty good city, from my experience thus far. A bit like a warmer Manchester I think. Enjoy the locals advising you of the nightmare traffic - which it can be, if you haven't lived in a UK City or major town before. I drove through Atlanta for a few months as we had an office in Sandy Springs (live in Newnan). It could take an hour some days for the through Atlanta bit - it used to take me 45 minutes to drive across Swindon in the UK (about 5 miles) and driving to our Croydon office would take anywhere between 3 hours and 6 hours depending on the M25.

Re: Finally Here!!!
Hey Y'all welcome to ATL, I moved here from Los Angeles, so as far as traffic goes, yeah it sucks, but as an LA transplant its fine!!
My challenge to you is to not get fat!! The food here is great but too much of it! I live in Midtown, but work out in the boonies, in 40 miles you go from Big City, to eff all lol Enjoy yourselves and enjoy the A, T, L |

As someone who lives an hour up the road, I concur with this. I would rather go to Greenville SC then have have to drive to ATL for anything at all!
Welcome to GA! |
Re: Finally Here!!!
Nothing, it's just further than Atlanta, but I would still drive there rather than ATL!

Re: Finally Here!!!
Thanks All!
I worked a lot around London, so the traffic is fine. The only nightmare I have currently is that with my job I travel all over the East Coast, so negotiating the beast that is the airport can be a bit mind numbing :) |
