Filing taxes from the UK, how do I do it?
Hi,
I am a UK citizen but for the past few years I have been on a J1 program in America, the program finished in May and I have since been living back in the UK. I filed my taxes over there using turbotax, but now I'm trying to file them for the 5 months I was over there in 2015.
Turbotax remembers all my details and gives me a refund estimate, but there is no way for me to receive it as I don't have a US bank account that works anymore and it doesn't seem possible to have that 'netspend' prepaid visa card sent outside of the US.
Can anyone recommend the easiest way for me to do this? Is there a software like turbotax that will let me receive the refund with my UK bank account?

The IRS website has fill-in 1040NR forms. You can file on paper.

Apparently the IRS will mail a check to the UK
https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Inte...-Living-Abroad
So she can use turbotax as normal make sure her mailing address is in the UK and she'll get a refund tax, if due, from the IRS.
