You may not owe the US government any tax, but unless your income was somewhat greater than ~$100,000, the foreign-earned income exclusion amount, you may want to declare yourself a US tax payer and file a married-joint return with your wife. The return will both declare and exclude your non-US income, thereby allowing two personal deductions from, and applying the lower married-joint tax rate to, what will effectively be your wife's income only.

If you are inside the USA for more than 180 days in any given calendar year, you become liable to file a US tax return; OR
If you obtain such a status in the USA which warrants filing a tax return (i.e., earning US income); OR
If you become a US PR at any given time in a calendar year, you can see if you meet IRS substantial presence test.
