Where do you enter your UK Pension on Form 1040 via what work sheet? Help would be appreciated.

I would have thought there was the odd accountant type person out there but odviously not. 53 views and no comment?

If you are a PR or Citizen, report the amount on line 16a - and yes the whole amount is taxable (16b). I spent two hours on the phone to IRS being passed around last week till I got an answer. (unless you worked for the government- different rules apply then).

I always entered it as other income before though and never had a problem- same rate of tax. But 16a is the place it should be.

That's the UK State Pension mind- if you have a company pension from the UK you have to find out if its taxed at source in UK (most are). If it is, you are covered by the US/UK Treaty- which stops double taxation. It involves a lot of paperwork though - so we've found it easier to get hubby's company pension paid into our offshore account in Jersey. His State pension is paid over here- that isn't taxed at source and is taxable here.
