Default Fiery crash kills 5 young men

http://www.ocala.com/article/2008012...0355/1025/NEWS

Ammirato 18 was driving his father's gray 2008 BMW M5 sedan. The $80,000 car, registered to Santo Ammirato, was traveling north on the 1.5-mile-long airstrip that actor John Travolta and others regularly use to fly in and out of Ocala.

What kind of father allows an 18 year old to drive a sports car. If it is found that he allowed his son to use this car he should be locked up and his arse sued off him by the other parents. Absolute show off moron. :curse:

At least it wasn't on the normal road. Pity he didn't take Travolta and his wierdos out with him.

It’s funny as out here it’s not uncommon to see kids driving in parents highly powered cars. It seemed less so in the UK, maybe due to insurance premiums?

I think the parent ought to face charges (if he consented), allowing your 18 year old kid to drive a M5 on a airstrip is asking for trouble.

If the 18 year old was a student, living at home then he wouldn't have any income of his own so the people to sue would be the parents plus it was their car anyway.

In Miami there's always one kid a month who dies in their parent's high powered car.

My wife's cousin just got bought 328xi coupe for her 17th we tried talking her father out of it; what's worse is I know she uses the phone while driving.

what part of IF YOU ARE 18 YOU ARE AN ADULT didn't you understand?
you can't sue one adult because of another adults actions...... even if it is a parent.

God, is MANC the only one with ANY COMMON SENSE around here?

What utter crap. People of all ages die whilst out driving every day - whether it be a high powered car or a jalopy. FFS people

People under 25 die in car accidents way more than those over (apart from those over 80), hence why your insurance goes down when you get to 25; and having a powerful car when you have limited driving experience is not a good idea.

So this story is nothing out of the ordinary? Not worth discussing?

So if I lend another licensed driver and consenting adult my car and they then go drive like a dick.......
I get sued?
How does that work then?

and when do parents stop being responsible for their kids?

18?
30?
60?

Of course they do. The car they're driving has nothing to do with it. They die by their thousands in jalopies too.
