Famous Welsh People in the US?
 

To tie in with Rete's thread, do you know of any famous Welsh people living/working in the US?

I can name one who's local to me. He's Grant Llewellyn, the NC Symphony's Music Director. He came on board some time last year (2004).

And Calli ( aka Super Bingo Woman ) who lives in the US when she is not calling mega bingo games on the Royal Carribbean cruise liner we were on last year. Heck we won $ 5 k so she is world famous in our bank account :D

I was going to say Englebert Humperdinck but he is born in Madras, India, but raised in Leicester, England.

Is it just me, or does it seem like all the famous welsh people live in the US! Are there any famous welsh people who stay in wales, or do they all leave at the first oportunity?

Bryn Terfel has a condo in Cardiff; regularly stays there. On Churchill Way in Cardiff ... if my memory is correct. It is said by some that he is one of the hottest "properties" in opera. My mum likes to listen to him. :)
