Default F-1 student and tuberculosis

Here's a situation:
An F-1 student took the TB Mantoux skin test and it came up positive and is told to take a chest X-ray to find out if he's tuberculosis or not. The student has had the BCG immunization in his home country which means that the Mantoux test is not 100% accurate.

If the student is diagnosed with TB disease does that have any effect on him not being able to come back in the country? Do they ask you in the application if you have ever had the TB virus or smth like that?

What happens if he wants to change the status to permannet resident? will he be able to change it even though he has had a positive Mantoux test or even the disease?

Anybody knows what happens if you have the disease?

Thank you for your help.

Most of us come back showing TB as positive from the skin test. It really isn't a big deal.
The local health dept will send you to ER for a chest Xray which should prove that TB is not evident in the chest, irrespective of whether or not the skin test came back positive or whatever.

I am not sure what happens if the chest Xray comes back positive though because mine didn't.
