I need to send an urgent email to Dean Churm..this is an extreme emergency about my passport, family member gravely ill in England, please, please can I contact him somehow?????

Unfortunately, no.

He's disabled the PM function as he is away on holiday.

Perhaps if you posted on the Orlando consulate page on Facebook, someone from his department might be able to help?

But if you're in an emergency, just ring local consulate and arrange a ETD.

Sorry to hear about your ill family member though and all the best getting this sorted.

OMG....yes, already know that ok.

Yes, one should keep one's passport current at all times...pardon me for almost dying in a severe car accident and having a mass of bills, husband is disabled, to name a few things going on, sorry for buying food and eating and not sending in for a new passport and oh....why on earth did my sister have a massive stroke without consulting me first.....don't need to hear your opinion, such as it is, you have no idea what the circumstances are so you should think first, ok...I'm looking for help and thought I could come on here, that's ok...over and out...

On that subject - mine is due to expire next year, how soon before the expiry can you apply for a replacement?

You can apply at any time for a renewal - there's no time limit. If it's within (or more than... can never remember) 12 months, I believe they tack on (or subtract... can never remember) that extra time to the validity period of the new passport. The way things are right now, I'd send it in sooner than later.

It's 9 months or closer to expiration that any remaining time gets tacked on to the renewal.

Renewing with any more time than 9 months is lost on the renewal.

Had a phone call from a supervisor in Washington this AM he's going to find my application immediately and have it expedited, I had contacted my local MP in the UK and she sent an urgent email to Washington last night so this is what did it, wow...MP Kate Green of Manchester, fantastic.

Contacting the PM for where you were previously resident in the UK is what has been advised for folks that aren't in the UK who need to be heard and especially with regards for passport help.

Wow! After 18 years you can still call on your MP for help? I am amazed, not that they suggest you do that, but that an MP does anything for you. Luck of the draw which one you get, I guess. Thanks for the clarification.
