Default Extra's

Did anyone catch Ricky Gervais in his new programme? Couldn't get the "Brent" character out of my head but I thought it was hilarious.

Its in HBO every sunday 9.30 cst.

Also watched a movie called "chopper" on directv 522, very violent but very funny movie about a psycho killer in Australia (true events). It has Eric bana as the main character (incredible hulk, Troy etc). Just done a search on the guy looks like to be quite a celebrity down under! definitely a guy movie though.

Extra is what?

The show (Extras) was pretty good but definitely nowhere near as good as the Office.

Gervais was on the Daily Show last week; they showed a clip of the new show. Seems to me the character is similar to Brent..... but I haven't seen the actual show yet.

I saw the series as it was broadcast on the BBC thanks to Bittorrent. It gets better as the series progresses and there's some classic moments in there. While Gervais set the bar high with The Office he did a great job with Extras and I believe he's already signed up several big names for the second series.

What a gem of a movie where has that been hiding? never heard of it until last week, apparently it was made in 2000.
I keep missing the first 20-30 minutes so I'm going to have to buy it from amazon.

Love the part near the end when he is being quizzed by the detectives about shooting the turk behind the nightclub and there laughing at him saying he's making it up etc, el chop chop just has a look of astonishment on his face and says in his thick aussie accent "I have never been so bloody offended in all my life!".....Classic.

Did anyone see it last Sunday night? It was the one with Les Dennis in it. He is the 'comedian' who used to host game shows like Family Fortunes; his much younger wife, actress Amanda Holden had an affair with Neil Morrisey (of 'Men Behaving Badly') and he fell apart when they broke up for good (I've never seen 'Big Brother' but he apparently seemed to be having some sort of breakdown during the series.

I thought it was pretty amazing to see him sending himself up the way he did on 'Extras' (it wasn't a film set this time, it was rehearsing for a pantomime production of 'Aladdin') - although I don't know if an American audience who have presumably never heard of Les Dennis would have a clue what it was all about.

Excellent stuff. If you have digital cable you might be able to still see it on HBO 'On Demand' - we can watch it anytime via Comcast (and yes I'm busy catching up on Channel 4's 'Sex Inspectors' too which is on HBO On Demand....

Does Les Dennis often appear naked then?

Come to think about it....has anyone ever seen Keith Chegwin romping around stark bollock naked? More than once I've seen the same clip (probably on 'Eurotrash' or similar) of 'Cheggers' in some sort of game show naked and it wasn't a pretty sight... :scared:

I'm sure it's on an internet site somewhere but I'm not too keen on looking for it LOL!

Best laugh so far? Les Dennis in bed with the woman from the pub and him saying "if it's up there...I'll give you the money meself."

Wife didn't get it but I thought it was a classic.
