Extending H-1 past 6 yrs is it possible??
Hi,
Is there a way to extend H-1 beyond 6 yrs, other than having been delayed by the LC
and I-140 process.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not quite right. It is possible in certain circumstances. See Question 3 at

I also hear that a H1-B is only good for 6yrs, during those six years you should of
applied for green card through employment, as you do get given that option. Once 6yrs
has gone, you need to leave the country for a year and after a year, you can re-apply
for a H1-B for another 3-6yrs. That what it states by the INS regarding H1-B visas.
But talking to an immigration attorney, you may get another angle, but H1-B's are
only temporary.
Best of luck
