Experience of family court??
I am going to family court on Wed on my own (no funds for a solicitor) to get a court order allowing me to take my youngest son to US (leave to remove).
I have done loads of internet research, but now I am second guessing myself in terms of evidence needed. I have compiled a chronological order of events, in terms of last time he saw him and maintenance, etc.
I thought it would be really clear cut as I am the primary carer and he hasnt seen him for nearly 2 years, but I am not sure if it's nerves but I am starting to feel like the decision will go against me.
Just wondering if anyone has anyone has any experience of family court?

Re: Experience of family court??
I didn't read the whole of the last thread Ian is referring to, but reading his post, I back that sentiment 150%. LTR is not a DIY job. Just by going into it referring to the past is a huge mistake. They want to know about the future, not the past.
Trust me, I did it. WITH a lawyer, and a deadbeat dad that hadn't seen his kids for a lot longer than 2 years, had been abusive, and hadn't paid child support, and I still had a battle on my hands. It was expensive, traumatic, and emotionally exhausting.
And in case you were wondering, moving for 'a better life' (if that's what you were thinking of using) isn't going to cut it with the court..... If this is your directions hearing, you may as well brace yourself, you could have another 8 months of fighting on your hands yet.
