Evolution...new poll

51% of Americans don't believe in it seemingly, which I found surprising.

It also says that the figure was 55% a year ago, so maybe things are moving in the right direction.

maybe.

May have something to do with them not being able to teach evolution in the schools, at least round our way. I'm not sure if thats actually a fact, or an urban myth, but I've heard it from a few different sources

I think that may have something to do with the Church and State thing, if you can't teach creationism, you can't teach evolutionism.

From what I understand, they DO teach creationism as the only possibility for us being here!

It depends where you are I think, I asked my 9th grader and he says they don't teach anything about either. (we're in NJ)

And God said unto Adam "Give me one of your legs, an arm, four fingers and a thumb, an ear, your tongue and a testicle and I will give to you a companion. A companion so fair and beautiful to gaze upon. A companion that will answer and attend your EVERY ;) desire. A companion so true and loyal and faithful only to you. A companion called "Woman" that will NEVER disobey or have a angry word with you. A companion that you will laugh, love and live with for infinity.

Adam thought
"What do I get for just one rib"? he asked

the rest is history

Lets face it there are parts of the US where there has not been any evolution for centuries. Just look at dubya

Used to be strict evolutionist than changed my tune after I worked on my MD and saw how complex and well designed the human body is... even the professors couldn't help but use the word "design" constantly through the lectures... :) Seems to be a trend toward ID lately among the scientists and my colleagues, though pure darwinism is still dominant among my colleagues, ID seems to be really growing...

Here's a cool web site on ID:

hmmm. If the human body is so well designed, couldn't the great designer have made childbirth a wee bit less of a nightmare? My Mrs would be interested to know.
