Thing is, there's sod all to do there, a handful of places for coffee and to get a book, but that's it, it blows chunks waiting for people or if you've got a connection...though they have cleaned it up loads lately.

Oh, another plus, Dexter and Californication, so weird but fun all the same...

Drive in Movie Theatres

Drive Through everything, don't use them, but I might be a lazy old git that would during the winter at some stage

I like:-

The weather
Customer service to the consumer is usually outstanding
Having a 13 acre garden
Cheap car
Cheap gas (compared to Europe)
NO CHAVS - we do have rednecks but at least they provide comedy value
People are so friendly
American Dad
Family Guy
Lots of TV channels
Dental/healthcare superior

The US really isn't a bad place to live at all.

Eh?

American dental care is miles ahead. Look around you. Look at how amazing everyone's teeth are!

Of course, you need a dental plan. But then, realistically you need a plan in the UK too. Waiting for treatment on an NHS dentist is a nightmare!

British teeth - possibly the biggest disgrace to the UK after Heathrow!

Can I just say the women here have gorgeous smiles. Another plus for the US

And the men..........

I definitely agree about the teeth in Great Britain. I see it every time I'm home. To be honest, sometimes it makes me cringe. And, I'm no teeth snob, but come on

many more people here go for cosmetic teeth-whitening treatments, but that's the only real difference I see

I agree, they do, but the general disrepair of British teeth that I see really disappoints me when I go back home.

Its not miles ahead at all - its just that everyone has that treatment here and place a high priority on white teeth (and maybe not wrongly..). A British dentist could do exactly the same; indeed, I'm sure they do for those who pay for it (as they do here).

Similarly with medical - it's not miles ahead at all - may be faster if you have insurance - but ditto Bupa, etc in the UK.

The poster said the dental/healthcare was superior - not so.

I've listed a few off of the top of my head, but of course, everything is relative. What is true for me, will not be true for others, depending on where in the country you are, and what type of people you associate with

Have you ever been to Ted Drew's for frozen custard? It's fantastic.

Yes, been to Ted Drewes and it was okay, but I must say that locally we have even better icecream/yogurt. I love Bobby's which is a local place ~ their turtle sundaes are to die for
