English sausages in America

Yes WF Irish Bangers have been the best we have found so far. I have ordered from Tommy Moloney's online, bacon, sausage and black pud (the white pud was only so so)

I'm sure it's obvious by now, but just remember that any kind of sausages will be labelled 'Bangers' here. You may sometimes see them listed as 'Links', but those are usually thinner, chipolata-type sausages.
For the record, I have some Balson sausages and bacon in my freezer and it's pretty good stuff! The only complaint is that the bacon is, perhaps, too lean and I find myself cooking some american rashers along with it to give it the fat it needs!

I don't like Balson's sausages but I can't tell you why. I prefer Williams "British Bacon" link in Uncle Bob's post just above.

You could try the Jones sausages found in the frozen section. They do pork sausages called 'dinner sausage' and a 'little sausage' which are really not bad. You 'defrost' them in a quarter inch of water in a frying pan until the water evaporates, then add oil and pan fry. We've used both for breakfast, toad in the hole, bangers and mash etc., and they are good-a bit salty, but still good. Nice and meaty, fine-ground with no weird unidentified gristle etc. I've seen them all over this area (NY)-the packaging says that the company is registered in WI, so probably a national brand.
Just be careful to avoid the weird pre-cooked varieties which have what looks like a poo on the picture on the packaging. Revolting.

In Malta for a couple of weeks before returning to the States. Enjoying a few fry ups or as close as I can get. Full English breakfast this morning!

About bacon.
If you get some Canadian Bacon and some thick-cut US stuff with meat on it (will involve plenty of digging thru the packets in the store cooler), grill them together and bung into a decent bun (bap) you really have something close to an authentic bacon bap.
By the way, there is a Mexican bread roll which has no sugar in it and does the job nicely.
Can't remember what its called tho.

The Brats that are sold in the Save Mart by me aren't brats at all but taste just like an English sausage. Still haven't found back bacon though, although I'm starting to get used to the American stuff anyway.
