Energy Corridor - Apartment Community
Does anyone live/has anyone lived/does anyone know anything about apartment/townhouse complexes near the Energy Corridor?
We are looking to live anywhere within 20-30 minute drive from the Energy Corridor (the closer the better of course!) with the top end of our budget being $1800.
Ideally I would like to live in a townhouse but apartment would be fine if dogs are allowed.
The two I have found that we are considering are Verona at the Reserve and Cinco Ranch at the Palms. Village on Memorial seemed perfect but too expensive at $2400.
Any suggestions welcome !

Most of the Houstonians on here live in family homes, so you might not get any useful replies. Your best bet may be to do a search for each of the options you list on Google or the Houston citydata site.

I know someone who stayed at Verona and they said it was nice.
Have you tried this site? HAR isn't good for complexes.

In a similar boat, We only want to rent somewhere short term for 3 months in a kind of "serviced apartment" type arrangement until we decide on an area.
I have been quoted $4800 a month so far!

I wouldn't do the palms because of its location. Traffic in and out of it is awful as its where the toll road ends.

If you are looking as far as Palms, I would check out Merrywood. It's closer to the energy corridor (westheimer/peek) you have good access routes to I-10 and its walking distance to pubs and restaurants.

Or the Lakes at Cinco Ranch? They have a really good location right by La centerra. You could walk out to loads of places to eat, wine bars, shops. Never been inside that one but I know it won some awards.

Thank you for your replies everyone! Does anyone know anything about Élan Briar Forest? Really like the look of it!

Is that the new one just off highway 6? If so, never been inside, just past it. Location wise it's central. Nearby is Millie bush dog park, just through the park. Depends how near highway 6 it is for noise I suppose.

The areas around Briar Forest seem nice enough and have trees around, but that complex is also next to Highway 6 / FM1960, which is a busy and wide road. I imagine you'd want to get an apartment on the other side of the complex at least.

We stayed at the Montierra (Sage Rd, near the Galleria) and I think it was cheaper than that for a 3 bed that took dogs.

Which one are you referring to as furnished? I was under the impression that the majority are unfurnished and the norm is to go with a furniture rental company? - if so any furniture rental company suggestions are welcomed! X

We stayed for some months at San Paloma on Eldridge. They do accept pets. Our was unfurnished and we had rented furniture from Cort. We were in a one bedroom and paid $1950 with utilities included, if I remember. We definitely recommend it. They have a sister property further south along Eldridge, that has bigger units and more family- sized.
