Scared to have black fingers then? ;) I didn't even know it could be done
electronically these days.... sounds neat. I will have to see if LAX Airport has such
a system, I will have to do my fingerprinting there.

Yes the scanner type prints are being done in NYC and the 'burbs. However, it is unusually for you to have a choice as to where to go for the prints to be done. You will have to go when and where the INS tells you.

My husband used the New Rochelle, NY fingerprinting office and it was electronic and this was back in '00

There most certainly is.

After Sep. 11 shook up things downtown, they sent alot of NYC applications to be
completed at Garden City. Be thankful that you don't have to deal with 26 Federal
Plaza, Garden city has pleasant staff working there... A friend of mine and his wife
recently had their interview there. They usually tell you to appear at the Jamaica
ASC in Queens, where they do electronic fingerprinting.

I also believe that they do electronic fingerprinting at Varick Street in Manhattan.

Re: electronic fingerprinting in nyc

I really appreciate you sharing this information with us. There has been a lot of
confusion about how long does INS Vermont take for the I-485 application. Their
official statement is that they are looking into applications filed in April 2001,
but this is actually the worst case scenario.

Employment Based applications are processed separately than family or asylum based
application, and is moving much faster. Your feedback will help many EB applicants
get some real time estimates.

Thanks
