Electronic Components, ICs etc.

I used Maplin in the UK for my electronic components, ie ICs, Transistors etc. At the moment I have only found Radio Shack that get anywhere close to my needs, but they're still not good enough as their stock is very limited.

Does anyone know of any good companies that have huge stocks of ICs, that sell to the public?

Thanks in advance.

Try Newark or Allied.

At the retail level, there is Frys, but it is primarily a West Coast operation. They have some pretty cool toys there (I think they now own outpost.com so you can see some of their offerings).

But for more severe stuff, like prototyping a new thing you're probably going to have to go to the Internet to order stuff (though I would imagine somewhere in NC's "Tech Triangle" they would have something like Frys.

Excellent Bill, Newark has what I need.

The tech side of the Triangle is more manufacturing components than retail sales to the public.
