OMG as though drivers here aren't confused enough. The other week I saw an 18 wheeler reversing on the interstate, looked like he missed the exit. :scared:

I've been on a school bus with first graders that reversed back on the Scukyl (SP)? Expressway cos the daft tart of a bus driver passed the exit, I was wetting myself as all the Philly drivers roared passed us like we weren't there

Thinking about it I don't think it will make a great deal of difference, most seem to drive where the hell they like anyway.

Got to say - read the article and have no idea what they're talking about. Doesn't bode well for whatever they're planning....

A national first - I thought they did this in NJ on the approach to the Lincoln Tunnel I believe where the HOV lane is placed on the other side of the road (being the left) in the morning going into Manhattan and then coming out again on the opposite side (again being the left). Can't remember where the change-over is, though.

they also do this in Lincoln, UK, where there are traffic signals at rush hour that tell you which lanes are open for your direction of traffic. It means that during rush hour you use the lanes that are normally on the righthand side of the road.

It works well in both these places so I don't see why it wouldn't work well elsewhere with the right approach.
