Earthquake in Maine?
4.5 apparently, Lake Arrowhead area of Southern Maine.
Got some cousins who live about 20 miles away...little surreal for this part of the country....friend felt it in the Boston Globe office too....
So anyone else feel it?
Didn't notice a thing were we are in the burbs

Yes - it was a bit of a surprise. No damage but definite shaking. I went through to the other room and said 'Hey was that an earthquake?' and my husband said 'Oh, I thought it was you running on the treadmill...'

Didn't feel it where I am about 10 miles south of Boston but friends in Marshfield did.

Re: Earthquake in Maine?
I was reading to my boys on my bed and the whole bed was shaking as was the entire house, crikey! My kids are a bit hard to settle tonight, I'm hoping there's no after shock.
As I'm the queen of sneaky pro-UK propanganda, I had to slip in, 'we don't have earthquakes in England'. Hopefully that's still true lol!

I've never felt an earthquake like that in the UK but our flat on a main road in London used to shake every time a double decker went past. So when the house started shaking the first thing I did was look out the window to see where the bus was...

My niece is at Harvard and she felt it. Said some of her classmates didn't recognize what it was but she's from California and had plenty of experience with quakes and tremors.

Me and my daughter were at an appoiintment, and I thought it was people thudding about in the upper floors, only to find out that there's no upper floors, so we definitely felt it. In saying that, on our return home, the rest of them were oblivious.... no change there then, one glued to the TV, one on their IPod, and the hubby's TV was so loud, he wouldn't have been able to tell one way or the other

Definitely felt it in South West VT, I was sitting on the couch and the wall behind me shook and my drink on the table was wobbling for a good few seconds.
